Price Index number calculation using Calculator App

Use the "Statistics" option in the home screen of calculator app and use the "Read/Create Spreadsheet..." option to read the spreadsheet containing data. Select one of the options about how your data is organized in your spreadsheet and provide respective column numbers. See the snapshot below for details - 

You can also view a sample data file in csv format where columns are separated by comma and rows are provided in new lines (Comments are provided in sample after #). The app expects the first line as shown in the sample csv to be the file read start row.

Since data in spreadsheets may not always start at first row (ex-first few rows may be used for column names and comments), you need to set the correct file read start row in the "Read/Create Spreadsheet..." page.



Following index numbers calculations are supported - 

Simple Aggregate Index, Simple Average of Relatives Index using Arithmetic Mean, Simple Average of Relatives Index using Geometric Mean, Weighted Average of Relatives Index using Arithmetic Mean, Weighted Average of Relatives Index using Geometric Mean, Laspeyre's Index Number, Paasche's Index Number, Fisher's Index Number, Marshall Edgeworth's Index Number, Dorbish and Bowley's Index Number, Kelly's Index Number and Walsh's Index Number

 Plot or Integrate using simulated data in specified range To plot or integrate, input expression with respect to an independent variable and then tap ðŸ“ˆ or ≈∫ For example input expression X * X  + X where X is an independent variable. Tap on  ≈∫ , select independent variable as X and start-end range from -5 to 5 Result  -5 5 ∫  Æ’ dX  = 83.333333333 (Approx) Note1: The range for integral (end - start) has a limit that is shown by the app. Note2: The result of plot or integral may be inaccurate for expressions with very high frequency. How to save and reuse calculations as macros in memory using Calculator App

 Save and reuse calculations as macros in memory You may want to save the calculation result in CAL memory list and reuse it in another calculation. The app provides an easy way to save a calculation with a given name and then reuse it. For example, if you need to total payments made for each day in memory and save the result day wise for last 7 days - - Input expression for Day1 total. Ex - 30+60+80+65 - Name the calculation as Day1 in the calculation name box and tap Add To List ⇓ . The calculation gets saved as a macro in the CAL list box below expression. In the same way, save named calculations till Day7 in memory. Now, if you have a requirement to grand total - Day1 and Day7 totals plus 30 - Input expression 30+ - Tap on Use ⇑  next to Day1 in the memory box. - Input + and then tap on Use ⇑  next to Day7 in the memory box.
